Lou Antonio will return this week for Part 2 of our conversation about his career as an actor, director and screenwriter. Lou’s acting credits include more than seventy plays, both on and off Broadway, as well as such films and TV series as Cool Hand Luke, Splendor in the Grass, America America, The Phynx, Star Trek, I Dream of Jeannie, Gunsmoke, Naked City, The Fugitive, The F.B.I., Route 66, The Monkees, The Snoop Sisters, Dog and Cat and Makin’ It, while his directing credits include such acclaimed made-for-TV movies as Something for Joey and Rich Man, Poor Man: Book II and multiple episodes of such shows as Boston Legal, Felicity, Picket Fences, Gentle Ben, The Flying Nun, McCloud, C.S.I., The Guardian and The Rockford Files. Among other things, we’ll ask Lou about working with David Janssen, James Arness, Elia Kazan, Wayne Rogers, Lee Remick, Ralph Waite and Jaclyn Smith, plus the role he played in discovering such talents as Henry Thomas and Renee Zellweger. Lou Antonio will join us in our second hour.

Lou’s memoir, Cool Hand Lou: My Fifty Years in Hollywood and on Broadway, not only provides a window into the ups and downs of an artist’s life, but shares many great stories of his work alongside some of the biggest names in stage, film and television. Cool Hand Lou is available in softcover and as an eBook through McFarland Books. You can also order it by calling (800) 253-2187. If you’d like an autographed edition of Cool Hand Lou from Lou Antonio himself, you can contact Lou Antonio through his website, LouAntonio.com.

This week’s show will also include Part 2 of our conversation with Grammy Award-nominated singer, author, comedian, radio host and show business raconteur Geoffrey Mark. Geoffrey’s latest book, Ella: A Biography of the Legendary Ella Fitzgerald: Centennial Birt... is a comprehensive biography, discography and videography of the legendary First Lady of Song whose rags to riches story embodied the American Dream. Among other things, we’ll ask Geoffrey about Ella’s remarkable range as a singer, her numerous appearances on television all over the world (including her famous Memorex commercials), and how she first learned how to be a star with the help of Marilyn Monroe. Geoffrey Mark will join us in our first hour.

Ella: A Biography of the Legendary Ella Fitzgerald: Centennial Edition is available in hardcover through Ultimate Symbol. There is also a deluxe edition of the book that includes a bonus two-CD set with more than forty studio/live tracks of Ella in her prime. All forty tracks in the CD set were personally selected by Geoffrey Mark himself from all four of Ella’s major recording labels, Decca, Verve, Capital Records and Pablo. The bonus two-CD set is exclusive to the book and can only be purchased directly at UltimateSymbol.com/ella. Proceeds from the sale of the deluxe edition will be donated to the Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation to further Ella’s desire to help people of all races, cultures and beliefs.
